J, NUMER | J, NUMBER

J, numer (J, number) the number of microfilmed archival documentation of Department I of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs (foreign intelligence branch of Security Service), corresponding to the archival number of the original documentation (notation form: "J-[number]"). From the beginning of the 1980s, J-numbers were also assigned to original documentation submitted to the archive, abandoning the assignment of archive numbers.
